After the Easter period, which hopefully many of you had a good and restful time, our UMes were working on everything that would allow to build towers and the little town.

What is new?:
We brought back and improved the functionality of saving and loading blueprints from land plots. There are few modes, like saving selected structures on land plot, or saving just one floor. As well as loading structures blueprint on the selected land plot, selected elevation of the land plot, or load blueprints on all land plots. The feature is still rough at the edges, but is being polished. Additionally blueprint files are in the readable format JSON, so anyone will be able to edit it, if really want to.
Another change is visuals. We brought back the Sun. And technically Moon too. 🙂
Also clouds are back, but in simpler form. At least for now. We got also day-night cycle. It is far from being perfect. But it is good for the time being. This is something we will aim to test more, regarding the performance.
Then we have various UI improvements and additions.
Some quality of life features, which actually forgot to use during recording video, due to “getting just to” the old yet still valid way.
We can now change wall heights and well their thickness. Current default height is 3 meters and thickness of 0.3 meters.
Some small improvements on lua side, for characters handling.
Players' spawn position now can be defined in lua.
Currently Working On:
We now started working on bringing back furniture and objects placing. Old furniture workflow is to be revised. Such objects are models, which can be added already as a form of mods. This will have various of implications.
Need to add rotation and proper scaling of imported objects.
And we also have another soundtrack in the production. It was a bit tricky to get something of the right feeling and the composition direction. But now it is on the way.
Preparing code for testing the next game build.
Tech Demo Coming Soon:
We are slowly preparing for releasing another technical demo. It requires quite a bit of work, but the horizon ahead becomes more clear now. We really want to reach this next milestone soon, so we can start on character autonomy. Very exciting times are upcoming.
Whats Next:
Another updates of features from previous update:
- Finish UI redesign and refactor (ongoing).
- To resolve some saving bugs of constructions on land plots.
- Fix furniture placing, scallng and rotation.
- Fix ingame and the main menu feedback system.
- A bit of polish but mainly stabilise the game for this phase of UMeFate build and prepare the demo update.
After all that, BIG Start on character interactions and autonomy (classic AI).
