Hi everyone.
UMeFate is working toward preparing a new update v0.0.7. This is planned around the end of the week (around 27 Oct 2024). Atm focusing on squashing some critical bugs to be resolved. There are some expected changes, which briefly been mentioned before. Like reworked main menu, ingame UI, camera dynamics and movement.
Various features are explorative, and may change in later development, but UMes believe that current choices direction, are much more comfortable and more player friendly in terms of the game play, to what it was. Implemented control system is significantly different than so far in other life simulation games. And that is by the design. The challenge is to mix First Person, Third Person and Isometric View like from the distance with a character controls. The controls are switching, depending on the camera mode. The major challenge is, to make it intuitive to players. And that may evolve over the time. But willing to explore chosen mechanics and wanting to bring something fresh. At least hoping for.
So far work is oriented on polishing core controls and a bit of UI.
This is so, as further development will move, it will heavily integrate many features and changing things will be more complex. And will affect overall player experience. More and more things start showing on the screen, therefore more oriented work has been put for UI.
So this is pretty much the testing phase. Along with that, there is an opportunity to clear out and refactor some code. Also to obsolete old and unused scripts. A lot of play testing and bug hunting is under the hood, which is less of new things to show atm. But boring stuff are important, so good stuff can be enjoyed.
